DANCE TEAM AUDITIONS
National Gridiron League Dance Teams are the officially recognized Dance Teams of each National Gridiron League organization. The team performs and travels to support the organization throughout the season. Each National Gridiron League team will host dance team auditions each off-season.
COMPOSITION AND TECHNIQUES
There are ten to fourteen members on the Dance Team. Each organization holds high standards for dancers: excellent technique, flexibility and tricks, leaps, turns in second, jumps in second, and leg hold/leg hold turns (tumbling is not required). The Dance Team learns more than 20 routines to recorded music for game routines and halftime performances. Squad members must also be familiar with cheer leading arm motions and be able to work with pom poms.
TIME COMMITMENTS
Throughout the season, each squad will meet 2 nights/week to work on dance technique and material for upcoming events throughout the summer and football games. The team has the remaining calendar year off, but may be called on to make public appearances. All squad members are required to attend pre-season one week Boot Camp each March. Football games will be played on Friday and Saturday evenings with an occasional Sunday afternoon game.
AGE RESTRICTIONS
To participate on a National Gridiron League team all members must be of age eighteen (18) years or older. There is no maximum age limit for participation on an National Gridiron League dance team.
